Go on an adventure with Rein the dune rabbit! A fun treasure hunt through Zandvoort for children aged 4-10.
During Festival VLOED, you can embark on an adventure through the heart of Zandvoort with Rein, the white dune rabbit. Rein accidentally jumped through a time hole and lands 200 years later in present-day Zandvoort. Everything looks different, and his rabbit friends have vanished without a trace. Can you help him find them?
A quest through 200 years of seaside resort
The kids' route is a fun and educational walking treasure hunt that takes you past unique spots and historic buildings in Zandvoort. Step by step, you'll discover how Zandvoort grew over the past 200 years into the vibrant seaside resort it is today.
What do you get?
- A route map along 8 historic buildings , full of small assignments and things to search and discover
- 8 beautifully illustrated postcards that together tell the story of Rein – about a tower, guesthouses, a bakery, a carpenter's house and life in the past
For curious children and families
The scavenger hunt can be done at your own pace and is perfect for families. Reading, searching, watching, and walking together makes for a relaxing and adventurous outing in Zandvoort. And... will you manage to cheer Rein up again and find his friend at the end of the route?
About the creator
The children's route of Rein the Dune Rabbit is drawn and written by Henriet van Roosmalen, known for, among other things, Kees the Mouse – a character who has previously made Zandvoort 'unsafe'.
Combine your visit
The route ends at Badhuisplein, where the Roar Race takes place: the louder you roar, the faster your car will go – a truly explosive finale! Combine your visit to VLOED with a bite to eat and a drink at the Wereldse Smaken food truck festival.
